Structural Features of LED Panel Lights

LED panel lights are indoor light fixtures that have replaced the conventional ceiling lights. The light source of these backlit lamps is LED. They give good even light and have zero glare problems, relieve eye fatigue, and are also radiation-free, making them environmentally friendly. They are very common as they consume little power wattage, thus reducing energy consumption by up to 45%. They are used in applications such as wall lights, ceiling lighting, mounting body, train carriages, etc. We look at the components within LED panel lights down below.

Components of LED Panel Lights

LED lighting option has become a popular option in the market for modern interior lighting. However, only a few customers know and understand their components. They include;

· Aluminum Frame

It is is the main passage for heat conductivity and dissipation in the LED light. The edge over also provides inner protection. They are made from aluminum with different grades, making buying and processing prices vary. Frames made from die extrusions are cheaper, and the price of processing is quite low compared to others. Some manufactures are switching aluminum for PVC, which is very convenient in terms of protection, but the material is a poor conductor of heat.

· Plate

The LED panel lights have two plate; the light guide and reflective plates. The guide plate is the essential most component of the LED light as it dictates the effect of the output light. The use of poor light guide plates causes dark spots and non-uniform output; thus, the fixture is not clear enough. Top-quality guide plates enable the whole panel to achieve a uniform effect, as they have good plate adoption and high transmittance. The reflective plate is necessary for ensuring brightness as it improves the efficiency of light.

· Light Diffuser

This element controls output and has personalized dimming options; hence it is convenient for all kinds of users. The diffuser is usually made from Polymethyl Methacrylate (PMMA) or Polycarbonate (PC).PMMA is highly efficient while PC material resists oxidation, has excellent chemical stability, high refraction, and performs very well indoors. The transmission of PMMA is about 92%, while that of PC is slightly lower at 88%. However, PC has a more affordable price and more advantages than PMMA, and most manufacturers prefer it, but you can choose any material upon your request.

· Power Supply

The lights have a driver system that ensures a constant current supply. There are two types of power supply, one that uses a constant current power, which is very efficient, cost-effective, and safe while the other uses a constant power current with a constant voltage. On the downside, the latter is more expensive, with low efficiency.

· LED Light Source

A particular type of light-emitting diode is used to light modern LED panel lights. It is ideal due to its low power consumption and high luminous output.

· Installation Accessories

The primary purpose of these items is installation, and they include; suspension wires, mounting brackets, and other mounting accessories. Most people focus on the appearance, quality, design, and performance of the panel lights. This makes the manufacturers focus more on these characteristics to develop a good product, to increase market sales.

Bottom Line

There are many LED panel lights types in the market, and understanding the features helps you choose better. Spending money on good quality LED panel lights guarantees you luminous efficiency while leads to increased sales on the manufacturer's side.
